If you meet the prerequisites, you can apply for a training position directly through the Radiation Oncology Training Network. Each Training Network individually advertises their available positions. Positions may be advertised directly by accredited training sites/hospitals of individual networks throughout the year. RANZCR is responsible for accrediting training sites and overseeing the training program.

The RANZCR radiation oncology training program is a five-year program in two phases. Phase 1 extends from a minimum of 18 months to a maximum of 30 months. Phase 2 is dependent on trainees demonstrating competency (usually a minimum of 36 months).
Training is undertaken through accredited network training sites. Trainees rotate to a number of training sites throughout their training.

To become a Clinical Radiologist, you must complete the training program administered by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR). The program runs for five years (full time equivalent) and gives you broad experience across the full variety of environments and imaging techniques that clinical radiologists need to be familiar with.
If you are an International Medical Graduate (IMG) in clinical radiology or radiation oncology who wishes to practice in Australia or New Zealand, RANZCR will be involved in assessing your training and experience. There are two main pathways to practising in Australia:
