Masters is designed to provide you with flexibility while aiming to deepen and extend the knowledge and skills required for practice in palliative care. It can be taken by coursework and a critical inquiry or research project.
This program blends foundational knowledge with specialised topics, equipping students with the expertise to lead and innovate in palliative care practices across diverse healthcare settings.
The Master of Palliative and End-of-Life Care does not include formal placement components but emphasises practical learning through case studies, reflective practice, and applied projects. These elements enable students to integrate theoretical knowledge with real-world application, enhancing their ability to deliver compassionate and evidence-based care.

Finish four topics and you’ll receive a Graduate Certificate.
Finish another four topics, and you’ll receive a Graduate Diploma.
Complete a further 12 topics in addition to those, and you will be awarded a Masters.

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in dietetics, medicine, midwifery, nursing, occupational therapy, paramedic science, pharmacy, physiotherapy, psychology, speech pathology or social work, and have a minimum of two years' full-time equivalent clinical involvement in palliative care and/or supporting patients and families with a life-limiting illness by the commencement date of the course.
Alternatively, applicants may qualify if they have completed the Graduate Certificate in Palliative and End-of-Life Care, Graduate Diploma in Palliative and End-of-Life Care, or Graduate Diploma in Palliative Care in Aged Care.
